Hey Guys
Sorry its been sooooo long. I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and a great start to the new year. Someone told me there was this thing called the Olympics happening in London this year.... Well i can't wait! Things are progressing nicely, and i feel like i am back on track coming back from the stress fracture in my shin and smiling again. We decided to take things slowly as it can be a tricky injury to deal with. I will take this time to say thanks to my physio's Rone Thompson and Shane Kelly, they have been amazing, and of course my coach Scott Simpson for his patience. We have decided to stay on a medium run up for indoors as the injury is not quite ready for my full run up, and just do 3 comps indoors. I kicked this off on Saturday (21st Jan) in Lyon france with a modest 4.34m. But also got to witness Holly breaking her own British Record of 4.87m and having a cheeky crack at the World record of 5.01 where she was very close. It would be so cool if we could get a world record holder this year which would really boost British morale this summer.
I will keep you posted with my progress.

Hey Guys,
So what can I say, its been roller coaster season this year. It’s the highs after the lows that makes you really appreciate them. As you all know I changed coaches this season, so that in its self can take some time, but I think me and Scott have worked well together and have leant a lot. When I look back to the indoors when I was jumping 4.26 at best, I see how far I have come to be jumping 4.61 in the summer. A personal best which has been a long time coming. I really had hoped for another one in Daegu but the injury in qualifying forced me to pull out, which left me devastated at the time. But I am determined to get over this and get myself ready for a special year next year. Thank you for all your support.

Apologies for the delay guys, I have now been back from LA for 2 weeks, and settled back into UK life, and I must say enjoying the UK sunshine almost as much as the LA sunshine.
The 4 week camp went really well. We were based out of Soka University, which is near Laguna Beach. It was a brilliant facility that catered for us all, so thanks very much Aviva and UKA.
Training went well, and I was also lucky enough to see some of LA too, I had great fun messing around on Venice beach, which also has a well known spot called muscle beach, so I thought it was only fair to have a play. Check out my facebook page for the video.
I was also lucky enough to go and watch a Lakers basketball game, which was also great fun, seen as they won.
I rounded off the camp for a competition from 12 strides, and jumped 4.32m which I was quite happy with for that time of year.
I have been training hard since I have been back and plan to kick off my summer season at the Loughborough international on the May 22nd. As soon as I finalise the rest of my meets I will post them here.
Until next time

Hey Guys,
So it’s been a while, so thought I would keep you updated. As I said before indoors was short but sweet for me, and although results were not amazing, I was able to try out some of the small technical changes I have been working on, which obviously still need some work!!
But all part of the plan, I promise. Training is actually going well, and already looking forward to the summer ahead, and as soon as I know what meets I will be doing, I promise to let you know too.
So in just over a week I fly to LA for warm weather training (WWT) and get some sunshine, and carry on the work I have been doing, but in the beautiful outdoors, which I’m looking forward too. I will post pictures when I’m out there, and hopefully make you all jealous of the LA life style thanks to Aviva and UKA.
Hopefully you have all checked out my latest photo shoot, which was great fun doing, thanks to Macesport and Sam Bowles.
Anyways, in till next time….
Hey guys, so winter training is well and truly underway.
Nearly 7 weeks done, with my new coach Scott Simpson.
Things are going well, and looking forward to spending Christmas in the sun in South Africa with my family, and then straight on to Stellenbosch in also in SA for the UKA training camp, to do some final preparations for the indoor season.
I do plan to do some indoors but not so much this year, due to the Commonwealths being so late in October, and not having had chance to fit in as much training.
As soon as I know exactly which meets I will compete in, I’ll let you all know.
This is a picture from a recent interview and coaching session I did with Alyson Rudd from the Times.
Here’s wishing you a very merry Christmas and a fantastic new year.

So i'm back from Delhi with a bronze medal.
Really happy to come back with my first medal. And hoping it is the first of many. India was amazing country, and i had no experience of anything that was bad in the press.
The village and the track were spot on, and security was pretty tight too. I will post some pictures on my facebook page so you can see for yourself.
I also managed to fit in a trip to the Taj Mahal. Being one of the 7 wonders of the world I thought this was a must, and it didn't fail to disappoint.
The whole games, was an amazing experience and so glad i went. Team England did so well, and i am very proud to be part of a successful team.
Right now i'm enjoying a two week break, where i've been getting time to catch up with friends and family. But I start back winter training on the 1st November, which believe it or no, I'm already looking forward to.
So until next guys, keep smiling

Kate Dennison has won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
Kate jumped 4.25m to finish behind Gold medallist Alana Boyd, Australia, and Cypriot Marianna Zachariadi.
Kate will now enjoy a well earned break following a long outdoor season, taking the time to relax and refresh before training begins for the indoor season and an assault on the medals at the World Championships next summer.
She said of her experience in Delhi; "I enjoyed myself out there and have to take the good things from it.
“ I need to take some time off then it's back to the heavy grind and I'll make some changes to my technique."
Pictures to follow....
Hey guys - hope you are enjoying the new website - if you have any ideas or requests please let me know through facebook or twitter, and I’ll see if I can add some more features.
So it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride this summer!!
The highlight being an outdoor season’s best of 4.55m and a 6th place finish in the European champs.
I was gutted not to get the 4.65 at Barcelona, (which was also the height that got the silver and bronze medal), I was sooooo close and I know its there for the taking.
The women’s pole vault was definitely a world class event at the Europeans, with the medals being won at the same height as the world championships last year in Berlin.
However the season is yet to end and the Commonwealth Games take place at the beginning of October and my preparations are well underway.
I am really looking forward to it and can’t wait to get out there.
The qualifying and final take place on the 10th and 12th October in Delhi, and so I guess you will hear from me when I get back.
Kate Dennison - has been selected for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
